United played a clever out: Bruno and Rashford tangled the defenders with their cross-movement, and it freed up space right down the middle. Martial got the ball there, waited for both Leeds ‘ centre-backs to advance on it, and flashed a clever pass through the opposition defence. An amazing achievement, given the specifics of the Scottish footballer \u2014 in a profile on Whoscored, Mctominay’s position is described as a” defensive midfielder”, and this can hardly be argued with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
